Curling is a fun and challenging team sport played on a sheet of ice and is offered at the PAYSA Ice Rink.
Curling is a sport in which players slide stones across a sheet of ice towards a target area. Each team of four players takes turns sliding a 42 pound polished granite stone the length of the curling sheet towards the target area referred to as the “house”. Each team has eight stones. The purpose is to accumulate the highest score for a game. Points are scored for the stones resting closest to the center of the house at the conclusion of each “end”. An end is completed when each team has thrown all their stones.
PAYSA’s curling sheet is regulation size, and is prepped for curling by a process known as “pebbling.”
